Back on Track

I feel like life has dealt me a crappy hand lately, but let's be honest. If I didn't let life get me off the beaten track, then I wouldn't have gone through a 4-5 week slump. Stupid. Anyways, I have so many reasons to lose the weight, so many inspirations, but sometimes I think I let my head get in the way.
There's a good saying that I want to focus on these next couple weeks.
"It takes 4 week for you to see your body changing. It takes 8 weeks for friends and family to notice, and it takes 12 weeks for the rest of the world."
I want to work hard this month and just focus on the eating and working out. Maybe I'll hide the scale LOL. Actually, now that I said that...its a good idea. I am going to put the scale away, and pull it out 2 months from today. June 7th!!

As of now, my goals are to keep up with my running, cross training, and cutting calories from my diet.

25.4 more lbs to lose to hit my inital goal! I also am in a wedding in Sept. We tried on dresses last night, and I was shocked to see that contrary to what I thought, I'm not an 18 anymore...I'm a 14. Holy crap. So I'm hoping by then to fit into a 12, or maybe even 10! Anyways, better get off, need to run!! :) Have a wonderful day peoples!

Weekly Weigh In Week 3

Yikes, sorry that this is a little late! Should have posted this on Monday lol :) I had a long week last week between both boys getting sick, and then me getting it. I only was able to work out Monday and Saturday. Even then, those workouts weren't that great. Also-I completely fell off the wagon in terms of eating. OOPS! But as of yesterday, I'm back eating healthy again. I managed to get in my first longer run in a while, as well as use my new running watch! I also lifted weights for 45 minutes too! I really hope to hit that Valentine's goal by Tuesday, it will be close that's for sure!

Weigh In Week 2

This week was a bit more difficult. I had a lot of distractions and scheduling obstacles to work around. Monday night was my work's Christmas party at Margarita's so I had to eat smart all day long, and then avoid the party's taco bar. I had 3 light beers while at the party, and that was it. I didn't end up getting home til 2 am. I was too busy watching the trainwreck caused by some of my drunken coworkers lol. So Tuesday I was absolutely exhausted after barely any sleep and having a great time the night before. Wednesdays are hard because I work at the gym in the morning...so it means having to hit the gym at night. Thursday-Jackson decided he was going to nap wayyy earlier than normal (right when it was time to hit the gym), so I had to rearrange that schedule. ARGGGH. Then Friday I was down at my parents, so no workout there lol. But I did get a nice long outside run in Saturday morning then a shorter inside run Sunday.

My Week in Workout
Monday~ 1 mile run, 3 mile elliptical, 3 mile bike
Tuesday~ OFF
Wednesday~ 1 mile run, weights
Thursday~ 1 mile run, 2 miles elliptical
Friday~ OFF
Saturday~ 4.5 mile run
Sunday~ 2 mile run

Now here are the results!!

Pounds lost this week~ 2.4 lbs
Total pounds lost~ 29.8 lbs

Goals:
Pounds left til my Valentine's Day goal~ 4.4 lbs
Pounds left til my 10% goal~ 12.9 lbs
Pounds left til my happy weight~ 39.4 lbs

Weigh In Week 1

Ah week 1. What a glorious week! I did VERY well sticking to my eating plan. I had a salad for lunch every day. Grilled chicken with spring mix, spinach, tomatos, pico de gallo, and avocado :) YUMMM. Clearly, I am now obsessed with avocados!! I usually eat whatever the fam is eating for dinner, but measure out 1 portion so I'm not overeating. I was down 4.4 lbs on Friday but I did lift weights, and I actually did really well controlling my eating at work all weekend. But gained a tiny bit back...I'd rather lose inches than pounds because one of the biggest things I want is to lose a jean size!!!! My workout schedule was as follows...

Mon~ 1.25 mi run, 3 mile ellipt, 3 mile bike ride
Tues~ 2.52 mile run
Wed~off
Thurs~ 4 mile run, 2 mile bike
Fri~ 1 mile run and 30 minutes weight lifting
Sat~ 2 mile run
Sun~ 2 mile run

So, I kept up with my exercise routine :) Here's to the next week! I'm hoping to lose 2 more pounds.

Results:

Pounds lost this week ~ 3.2 lbs
Total Pounds lost~ 27.4 lbs

Goals:

Pounds left til my Valentine's Goal ~6.8 lbs
Pounds left til my 10% goal ~ 15.3 lbs
Pounds left til my happy weight ~ 41.8 lbs

Beginning of Week 1

Alright, I weighed in yesterday, and I am very excited for the end of this week to see some results! :) I've already jumped on the eating healthy bandwagon. The two biggest changes to my routine from last year will be...
1. Counting my calories but actually eating healthy things. Last year I counted calories, but the quality of what I ate was crappy.
2. Lifting weight at least 2x per week!

Here are my first set of goals (some short term and some long term)!

-Lose 10 lbs before Valentine's Day! (in 4 weeks) This is equivalent to losing 5% of my body weight!

-Make it to my 10% goal by March 12th (means losing 18.5 lbs total)

-Total Pounds to lose to ideal goal weight =45 lbs

Welcome 2012

2011 where did you go? I honestly feel like the whole year was a blur for me. Dominic turns 4 and Jackson is 18 months old...I blinked and 2011 was over. I guess with how busy our schedule is, I shouldn't be surprised!! I'm welcoming 2012 in with open arms. I have a really good feeling about this year!
So now on to the fun stuff...my New Year's goals (I don't believe in resolutions).

1. Keep up with my running 3x per week minimum.
2. Train and complete my first half marathon.
(If you didn't already know, I completed my first 10K on January 1st, go me!)
3. Eat more vegetables. This one might sound stupid, but my diet is really lacking in the green.
4. Strength train 2x per week. I also always manage to skip out on this, but it's really important for toning and will definitely help my running.
5. Run a 5K race in under 30 minutes. This means running a 9:39 min/mile for 3.1 miles. (Right now I average about 10:45-11:15 depending on course.
6. Participate in my first mini triathalon. (This depends on if I can get a tri bike for a cheap price, they are rather expensive)
7. I want to make sure my husband and I get one date night a month. As of right now, we never go on dates. I think it's really important that we start doing that.
8. Put more into our savings account every month :)
9. Spend as much time as I can with my boys. I'm blessed to be able to stay at home with them during the day and most nights, just not the weekends. :)
10. Cross your fingers that I get into nursing school...because I really want to be a nurse, and better my boys futures simultaneously :)

Ultimately, keeping up with this should help me end up at my weight loss goal and ideally lose 2-3 jean sizes. I may have gone through lulls and have some difficulties at times, but the best thing about me, is that I never give up. I managed to keep up with the exercise for all of 2011. I've lost 30 pounds in the past year and managed to keep it off! So obviously I'm doing some things right lol It will also better my marraige and family life.

So those are my goals for the year...I'm hoping to complete EVERYTHING on this list! :) Good luck to everyone else with their goals and/or resolutions!
